My parasocial relationship with Peyton Manning
As all of you know, my boy Peyton Manning just got dominated in the super bowl, and I am not too happy about it. I may or may not be obsessed with him and that is why I have a parasocial relationship with Peyton. I have "known" and been "friends" with Peyton Manning ever since I was a little kid growing up and our bond has grown over the years. I have watched Peyton Manning play his whole career as a Indianapolis Colt and now I am watching him play as a Denver Bronco. Every time Peyton plays a game and does good or bad, I am always screaming at the T.V. after every play he makes or does not make. My bond with him is stronger than ever and will not become weak until the day he retires. This year he had the greatest regular season of all time, but came short in the super bowl. I usually do not care who wins the super bowl unless the Colts are playing, but now that Peyton is not part of the Colts, I have to cheer on the Broncos too. I did not like the Broncos at all until Peyton started playing with them. He has been my idol since day one and will always be my "best friend" in my heart at least. The way he presents himself and how he deals with adversity is amazing and something I try to live up to. I hardly ever miss a game when he is playing even if I have something more important to do, I still continue to watch him, and always will until he retires.
