Bottom line, Reality TV is trash.

I am not a huge consumer of reality TV shows, but that doesn't mean that I haven't seen them before. Show like "Jersey Shore' and "The Real Housewives of Bum F**king Nowhere" basically plague television. You would be hard pressed to find some redeeming qualities of that these show even remotely possess. Any time I have watched one of these shows I just feel like I am watching people who are so stupid or so out of touch with the actual real world around them, that it is totally farfetched and completely unrealistic. But even it you get past the fact these types of television shows are trash, there are bigger problems. These show cause the viewers to think that making fun of the poor is OK,  or that all rich wives are stuck up princesses that like to screw, shop, and sun tan (not necessarily in that order). If junior high/elementary kids start to watch this then they may get the idea in their heads that it is OK to act like a spoiled brat, or it's OK to act stupid for attention. I think I use this show a lot in my arguments, but South Park has a great episode called "Raising The Bar." The episode basically questions why we think show like "Honey Boo Boo" are entertaining and why we are obsessively drawn to watching it and other shows like it. I get that these shows could also be guilty pleasures to some people and I get that. I have a few guilty pleasure shows myself, but I can honest say that this reality show trash isn't on the list.
