Culture of Food,Danielle Jones

In class we talked about how the 70's started the movement for making food affordable. Having affordable food is always great because of it convenience but is it worth it? The food that they make affordable isn't always good for you. After watching the video in class and discussing Food in the media and the world, it is clear that our society strives to promote unhealthy food by making healthy food much more costly than fast foods when really producing healthier foods is cheaper and easier. So why do we promote unhealthy eating? Why make the healthier food harder to obtain? These are all questions that came to my mind after the class lesson and after watching the movie in class. Our society is so backwards and the rise in problems such as ecoli come from us altering our foods and instead of adapting the world we make the world adapt to us and our needs. Do to the family income decreasing we create fast food because its fast quick and easy to obtain. All this has led to food politics. Why are we participating? After all of this my take is we should make organic food and healthier food less costly and not make healthy eating something that has to be bought. But until than we should pay to eat healthier because like the little boy said in the video I rather pay to eat healthy now than pay for a bunch of hospital bills later.
