I have binge watched two shows since school started in the
fall. I have watched Weeds and One Tree Hill. I normally don’t watch tv when I
am home or any other time. I binge watch because when I actually decide to
watch Netflix I don’t have anything else to do or I’m procrastinating doing
anything else. I watch multiple shows to fill up my time. I think since each
episode ends with a cliff hanger it makes it much easier to binge watch. You
just want to find out what’s going to happen next and before you know it you've
watched hours’ worth of shows. When you watch reality tv you have to wait until
next week whether you want to or not. I also like watching the shows all at
once so I can just get it done and know what happens in the shows. I found
myself watching some of the shows more often because my friends had already
watched the seasons and I wanted to be done with the seasons so I could talk
about the shows with them and that way they wouldn't spoil anything for me. Binge
watching is also like a temporary check out from everything. When I’m binge
watching shows on Netflix I’m not worrying about anything else. I don’t worry
about how much stuff I have to do during the week, I just watch the shows, and
I think it’s nice to have that temporary break. But, contrary to what we
discussed in class, I don’t plan to binge watch. I tell myself only two
episodes and I’m done, but it doesn't always work out that way.
