Branding
Yesterday in class we were talking about how kids with the most popular brands are or what seem to be the "cool" kids. We were talking about how if you had Lego's as a kid then you considered "cool" and not only if you had Lego's, but if you had the Lego's that no one had. This reminded me of when I was a little kid, my family and I went to Minnesota to visit some family and while we were there we went to Mall of America and shopped. At the time of this trip I was really young and wanted to go to Lego-Land and get some new Lego's because I heard that they sell Lego's that they do not sell anywhere else in the U.S.. I wanted to have the coolest Lego's of any of my friends to make me that much "cooler". I remember I ended up getting some Lego's that I knew none of my friends would have. When I got back to my hometown I started showing off my new Lego's to all my friends and thought I was so cool because of them. I was branded by Lego's as a young kid and still to this day I am branded by many "cool" brands. That was just the start to brands that I always have to get no matter what. I sometimes hate shopping for clothes because I always have trouble buying something from a brand that I am not familiar with.
