Why we study Pop Culture? Danielle Jones
After studying pop culture in this class I believe studying pop culture is important because its important to know how the media anlyzes and interprets certain things. So far we have learned how the media interprets things such as fashion food and many more through different forms. Studying pop culture allows us to take a deeper look into our surroundings and the society we live in. Learning about the Narrative which is the understanding and interpretation of the world through story telling as well as Dramatistic when human views event as drama and the critic has to understand motives of action, and feminist perspective undecovering things taken for granted about gender has helped me to see that their is alot more that goes along with pop culture. In class we learned how to look at things in different ways; dont always go with the underlying meaning. Pop culture challenges me to think more about media in our culture. Now that I have a new approach and way of thinking of things , I can understand news in the media much different. I love this class not only because it really is interesting to see the different perspectives classified in media but becasue I know in the future I will be able to anaylze all media in a different light.
