Ban Bossy??
So recently I came across a video on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dynbzMlCcw) that had celebrities like Beyonce, the cheer coach for Glee, Jennifer Garner, and that congress woman with gap between her teeth. They were all preaching the same message, "A woman's isn't bossy, she is the boss." What? Are you telling me that we can't refer to people as bossy anymore? Besides the fact the this stupid little video probably cost a pretty penny to produce due to the "talent" that was in the video, why is this such a big deal? I mean, I hear people all the time say, "those are just words," or "words can't hurt me." Seriously though, political correctness is OUT OF CONTROL. This is going to be known as the new "b-word", but won't that get confusing since bitch is the b-word, or is bitch ok now? I'm so confused. Ok I got, bitch can be b-word number one and bossy can be b-word number two. I mean, really? Also this video looked like it was filmed in about 3 hours. All the women in the video, and the congressman at the :24 second mark who is just trying get the female vote in his next election by going along with these female celebrities, just say the word bossy or bossy in a short sentence. Then they say thing like, "We need to help them lean in." What the hell does that even mean?! Now I'm all for gender equality and can relate a little with the feminists and what they are trying to accomplish, but there is a line people. Honestly when I first saw this video it was the first time that I had heard the word bossy since I was playing on a play ground in first grade. Which I am willing to bet is the last time any of these people heard it too. And why would Beyonce care about being called the b-word? She is freaking Beyonce! Just because someone comes up to her and say, "Hey you're kinda b---y." Stuff like this wouldn't bother celebrities, which makes them extremely poor choices for this commercial. Because all this will do it get a bunch of girls all riled up because Beyonce and the cheer coach from Glee are steamed about something. C'mon it is just a word, and not even an offensive one. I actually feel pretty confident that I can claim it's not offensive and not get a ton of backlash for it. Anyway that's kinda how I feel about the video. Again the link is right here --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dynbzMlCcw Click and watch, and after you watch it comment below and let me know what you think about it. Did that sound bossy to you?

You are speaking from a point of male privilege. Maybe you've never been called bossy and it isn't a relevant term in your vocabulary because you're a man. That's really the whole point of the banbossy argument. The point of the argument is that women young women have leadership skills they are called"bossy" but when young men display the same attitudes they are congratulated for being tough. Consider that you haven't lived in a woman's shoes, so you can't really speak for what can and cannot offend her. I hope you do more research on your own privilege and think about it from that perspective.
