How the web is changing people's diet

In the article written by Sara Breselor, she said that social media-style sharing is now part of out culture zeitgeist. And undoubtedly this has also changing the way we experience and react to food. I quiet agree with her. When I was young, I mostly ate home-made dinner at home with my family. The food for every week was almost made from the same material. Eating at home was more because of the time sharing with my family rather than the food. And at that time, nobody would take a picture of what they ate tonight. People do not put much emphasis on competing with others about what they eat. However, because of the social media, people keep uploading nice and fancy pictures. Everybody can know what the others ate tonight and are influenced by the nice pictures. People are not satisfied with the food they eat everyday and tend to pursue new different styles. They search the website for food from different countries and take photos in order to show they have more experience. People try to find the restaurant as expensive as possible to show they are expert in food field. People find the restaurant as remote as possible in order to show their excellent taste. They make bad comment on the most popular food to show their difference with the normal people. Whenever people eat at a restaurant, the first thing they will do is taking photos. Increasing restaurants begin to take less emphasis on making the meal taste good and put more emphasis on making meals looks good in order to cater to their customers. Nowadays people always forget to take time feeling the real taste of the food.
