Private Schools

In class today, someone talked about how his parents may have money, but that does not mean the he does and that he does not have debt...while he was talking about this, it immediately made me think back to the days of when I went to Private Schools...
Growing up, I attended private schools (K-12). At my High School, some kids would rag on me or expect me to pay for more because of where I was from. They would assume that I was really wealthy because of where I live and where I was raised. But then on the other hand, the kids from my hometown would rag on me because I went to private schools, and if my parents are willing to pay thousands of dollars for me to attend school, I must be rich.
My parents have worked their whole lives to provide for our family. They are strict with their money and they prioritize. Education has always been an important factor to my parents and going to Catholic schools K-6 was also very important. When it was time for High School, my parents gave each of us the choice of which High School we wanted to attend. I am the only one who chose to go to a Private High School all four years. My brother went for 2 years, but then ended up transferring to our town’s public school and my two sisters also chose the town’s public school. Each school has/had their positives and negatives. Most importantly, we all have enjoyed and chose the right school for us.
I was/am not wealthy--my parents had/have money, but I did/do not. I had to pay for anything extra that I wanted. I would babysit and drive other kids to school for money because I did not have the time for a part-time job with my school and sports schedules in high school. I now work 2 campus jobs on top of taking a full load of classes to pay for the extra things that I want

People will judge and make assumptions about a person for any reason regardless if you are famous or not because that is what people do.
