All day long, I hear people blabbing about their favorite TV show. Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, Bate's Motel, The Walking Dead, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Weeds, Dexter, etc. These shows come from all different types of stations and they all attract different viewers. I actually have a binge-watching problem with watching several episodes of the same TV show in a row.
In high school I would watch Dexter and Weeds over and over and over again. I finished a couple season of each in only a couple of days. These two shows are so intense and so interesting that it is difficult to stop watching. A serial killer, who is a blood splatter specialist, that only kills the very bad people? A (hot) mom, her two kids, and brother-in-law who live in a nice neighborhood, that sells pot to support her family? This kind of stuff is hard to not get addicted to. It's interesting, abnormal, "fudged" up, and very far fetched. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish these two shows because there were only a few season on Netflix. Maybe someday I will.
Now I am on a 'Always Sunny In Philadelphia' binge. I went to Orlando this past spring break to visit my brother and I got hooked on this show. Him and his girlfriend would go to work from 8:30am until 5:30pm and I couldn't find anything more interesting to do. My spring break included several Budweiser's, Yueng Ling's, chicken wings from a local bar, and Always Sunny. Without even thinking about it, I would watch a few seasons each day. All of my friends were in PCB or Fort Lauderdale while I was inside, being pasty white, watching Always Sunny... very exciting!
Binge-watching is real and can be a problem. But it is also fun and time consuming. I love my TV shows and I love binge-watching. I hope Always Sunny keeps on making episodes because I want to be best friends with all the main characters. If you haven't watched it.. start today!
