Trash Tv am I right?!?!
When I was a youngin...My older sister and brother would always watch "The Real World." You know...that one "reality" Tv show on MTV...you know...that one channel that stands for music television but yet...music is rarely ever played on there anymore. Anyhooters...I never understood what was so great about that show. All it ever showed was people cursing at each other and fighting with one another and there was really never a moment when there wasn't any drama.
My step dad would always poke fun at my siblings by saying; "Everything is scripted...and they are getting paid for it."
Now that I'm older I understand that not everything in a reality show is real. These kind of shows focus on the drama and problems because that is what the audience wants. People want to watch trash Tv because it makes them feel better about themselves and makes them realize that it can always be worse.
Shows such as Toddlers and Tiaras, Jersey Shore, and Honey Boo Boo display the worst of people and the television networks try to make it humorous. Thus making the population believe that that is how "poor" people really are causing people to feel less considerate.
I honestly find reality Tv misleading and pointless. But hey...it is the least expensive television program to produce and it has the highest number of audience...so...there isn't a point to stop making them.
