"Reality" TV

Although I hat to admit it, I must admit that I have spent a few hours of my life watching The Real Housewives of ___. Perhaps the entertainment value comes from a lifestyle I don't expect to ever attain. However, it appears that even the reality TV "celebs" are not even truly living the lifestyle that they're portraying.

According to the HuffingtonPost reality stars of The Real Housewives are given 6 figure paychecks each season, but are also expected to spend exuberant amounts of money to keep viewers entertained. So in reality, their money is almost a temporary factor as opposed to a stability for the stars. One star even recently filed bankruptcy after being $11 million dollars in debt.

HuffingtonPost also posted an interesting graphic that displays the high amount of debt and divorce that these "stars" face in order to continue their reality TV careers.

Seeing the amount of lost businesses, bankruptcies and divorces show the true "reality" of these shows.

The lives that these reality stars live on TV generally appear to not be representing the reality that is actually occurring.

After seeing these elements outside of the TV show, it has mad my desire to actually watch these shows far less.
