becareful what you tweet

Just because you have the power to say something doesn't mean you always should. I am talking about the recent headline about a teenage girl in Denmark that decided it would be funny to tweet at a American airline company that she was a terrorist and she was planning something big. American airlines responded by saying they had contacted the FBI. The girl freaked out and said she was kidding , and the airline didn't respond back.  The girl continued to claim her innocence , during this time she also got over 200,000 new twitter followers. Supposedly the police did eventually show up at her door.

The problem that arrised other than a stupid teen tweeting a terrorist plot to an airline is that are now other cases of teens doing this. Apparently the media attention glorified how funny this idea to teenagers is. So there have been a lot of copycats. I know this is a stupid trend but come on kids use your brains.  In this post 9/11 society you don’t go around even jokingly make a threat in America.  Someone needs to step up and tell kids this isn’t ok  You have to wander if this might be the new thing to do , hopefully it is , but who knows because lets face it with the advances of technology we have become slightly reckless with what we share. Kids don’t think when it comes to social media between sexting , cyber bullying  and even after sex selfies” I know that is weird”  The point is if we don’t make an example out of this girl or pretty soon we might see a slippery slope of kids thinking they can tweet whatever they want.
