In today's society, men have to be in shape. Most women in college, whether they are in shape or not, think that they DESERVE Ryan Gosling. They talk about it over their Starbucks. Guys get pressure from other guys if they are not lifting often enough or if they are overweight. In today's society, women have to be strong and successful and make more money than their significant other, which are pressures put on them by society as a whole and not one specific gender.
Why are we so hard on the opposite gender? Maybe we don't understand them. Maybe it's easier to make fun or dismiss than to strive for understanding. Today, both genders have hard stereotypes that they are either adhering to or fighting against. No one wants to be the same as the person sitting next to them, but unfortunately that's just part of life.
Our generation has to get to a place where we can accept ourselves. We would have much more fulfilling lives if we stopped wishing we were someone else and made our own lives great. I don't think that this will ever happen for our generation as a whole. We need to consider that the people we wish to be, probably did not spend their time wishing they were someone else.
